Our city is dedicated to keeping neighborhoods clean and environmentally friendly. This page outlines collection schedules, recycling guidelines, and ways you can help reduce waste. By following these practices, we can preserve natural resources and maintain a healthy environment for everyone.

1. Pickup Schedules

  • Residential Garbage: Weekly pickup by neighborhood. Check the Online Schedule Lookup for your day.
  • Recycling: Collected weekly or biweekly; varies by location.
  • Holiday Shifts: If pickup falls on a public holiday, service is typically delayed by a day.
  • Yard Waste: Some areas have separate days for grass clippings, leaves, or small branches.

2. Recycling Guidelines

  • Accepted: Rinsed plastics (#1 & #2), paper, cardboard, metal cans, and (in some zones) glass.
  • Not Accepted Curbside: Plastic bags (return to store drop-offs), Styrofoam, and electronics.
  • Preparation: Rinse containers, flatten boxes, and place items loose (not in bags).

3. Waste Reduction Programs

  • Composting: Free or discounted bins each spring. Compost drop-off hubs support local gardens.
  • Reuse & Repair: Swap events for gently used items; repair fairs help fix broken household goods.
  • Educational Resources: Workshops on composting, recycling tips, and eco-friendly habits.

4. Hazardous & Electronic Waste

  • Disposal Events: Bring old TVs, computers, and other e-waste to scheduled drop-off days.
    Hazardous items (paints, oils, solvents) also collected on special dates.
  • Permanent Drop-Off Sites: Year-round facilities accept certain hazardous materials; fees may apply.
